Dressing up your child as Lord Krishna is a great idea and definitely brings them a step closer to winning the competition as well. But in order to get the perfect look, there are certain essentials that you must put together.
  • Blue food colour (make sure they are chemical free)
  • Jewellery
  • Yellow Dhoti (silky material is preferable)
  • A crown with a peacock feather on it
  • A flute
  • A garland (make sure not to get a heavy and fluffy garland as it can ruin the whole look)
  • A wig of shoulder length hair (this item is optional)
  • A matka with little amount of edible cream in it (optional)
  • A little bit of makeup
Steps for getting your child dressed as Lord Krishna this Janmashtami:
  • Now a day, most of the mothers opt for a readymade dhoti since it is more convenient for the kids to wear and carry around. You can also choose the traditional yellow dhoti and wrap it around your kid’s waist. Give it a knot at their waist.
  • If you are using a wig, then make them wear it along with the crown. Now stick the peacock feather on the side of the crown.
  • Make them wear artificial jewellery consisting of a chain around their neck and stick big bindis on their ears in place of earrings. Do not forget the garland.
  • The next step is to give them the colour. Mix the blue food colour with a good quality moisturizer and apply it all over your child’s visible body parts.
  • For the makeup part, apply little amount of blush and kohl on their face, accompanied by lipstick and a white tilak.
