Home remedies for nails breaking

Brittle nails can also be associated with some diseases, such as hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, lung conditions, psoriasis, lichen planus, alopecia areata, eczema, anemia, fungal infection, and endocrine disorders.

1.Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is very nourishing for weak and brittle nails. The saturated fat in coconut oil works as a great moisturizer. It will also prevent many kinds of nail infections.
Slightly warm some coconut oil and apply it on each nail. Massage gently and thoroughly for five minutes. This will improve blood circulation and keep the nails moisturized. Follow this remedy two to three times daily.
Another option is to mix one-quarter cup of warm coconut oil and a little lemon juice in a bowl. Soak your nails in this solution for 10 minutes before going to bed. Wear gloves overnight for best results.
Follow either of these remedies for several weeks until your nails become healthy and strong.
Along with coconut oil, you can also use olive oil to treat brittle nails.

2. Horsetail
Horsetail contains high amounts of silica, a vital mineral for strong and healthy nails. Plus, this herb can help get rid of white spots in your nails.
Add two teaspoons of dried horsetail herb to a cup of hot water.
Cover and steep for 10 minutes.
Let it cool down and then soak your nails in it for about 20 minutes.
Pat dry your nails and then rub some olive oil on them.
Leave it on overnight, wearing gloves for best results.
Repeat this remedy three or four times a week.

3. Daily Olive Oil Soak
Seriously is there no end to the benefits of good ol’ olive oil? It’s truly the most versatile ingredient and one which is likely to be sitting in your kitchen right now! Not only is it well known for its ability to both lower cholesterol and effectively moisturise the skin and hair but it is also highly capable of penetrating, repairing and ultimately strengthening your nails!
Simply soak your nails in extra virgin olive oil for 10 minutes a day and watch the magic happen!

4.Tea Tree And Vitamin E Oil

After finishing your house hold jobs, take 1 tsp tea tree oil and add few drops of vitamin E oil and apply in your nails and fingers everyday for transforming your brittle and weak nails into healthy and strong nails. This treatment also helps to avoid any kind of nail infection and fungus build up.

Rub the solution gently on your nails, massage the nails for 5-10 minutes to soften the cuticles and improve blood circulation and wear gloves to let the treatment work overnight. Within a short period, your nails will become healthy.

5.Eat biotin-rich foods
Make sure your diet features foods rich in biotin, such as liver, cooked eggs, whole grains, cauliflower and avocado, among others. In addition to other health benefits, biotin can help strengthen and thicken nails. You can also take a biotin supplement, if necessary.

6.File

Something as simple as keeping the edges of your nails filed (and preferably rounded) means they will be far less likely to peel. Only file in one direction though, as a back and forth motion actually weakens the nail.

7.Massage
Did you know that massaging your nails in a circular motion will stimulate blood flow to the area helping them grow stronger? There isn’t a much cheaper remedy than this so get to it right now. Use any moisturiser you have to hand but if you happen to have one which contains Shea butter then that’s even better.
