1.Honey and Oatmeal Facial Scrub
1/2 cup of uncooked oats,2 tbsp honey ,1 tsp nutmeg,15 drops lavender essential oil ,15 drops melaleuca essential oil ,1 tsp dried lavender
Honey, Oatmeal, Nutmeg, Lavender and Melaleuca essential oils are joined together in this simple exfoliating face scrubs. It may help to reduce breakouts, even skin tone, and moisturize. Find the recipe here.
2.Banana scrub
Take two ripe bananas, mash and add ground sugar. For hydration and moisture, add one tablespoon of honey. Gently massage this mildly fragrant pulp on your face for five minutes, then wash it off with cool water.
3.Blueberry and Honey Scrub
1/2 cup fresh blueberries
2 tbsp honey (raw and local is best)
1 – 2 tbsp sugar
Combine all ingredients in a small food processor, and blend until smooth. Add a generous layer to clean face, and allow to sit for 15 minutes. Rinse clean with warm water.
4.Chocolate Sugar Face Scrub
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/8 cup olive oil
1 tbsp cocoa powder
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
How you do it:
Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl. Lather generously onto clean face, rubbing gently into the skin for 60 seconds. Allow to set on skin for 10 minutes, if desired, then rinse clean with warm water.
5.Honey-orange scrub
Combine orange peel powder and oats in equal amounts (two tablespoons each) and mix one tablespoon of honey. Adjust the consistency to a thick paste,with a little water. Apply on clean skin using very mild upward and small circular strokes. Let it sit on face for a couple of minutes and then rinse well. Pat dry, tone and moisture.
6.Coconut oil - Sugar Face Scrub
1 tbsp coconut oil
2 tbsp sugar
How you do it:
Combine coconut oil and sugar in a small bowl, and stir to combine. Rub sugar face scrub into clean facial or neck skin, using gentle circular motions, for 60 seconds. Rinse dry with warm water.
This is an easy recipe to whip up when you don’t have a lot of time. You can increase the ratios to make more of the mix, and store for up to 3 months. If you live in a hotter climate, you may want to store this mixture in the fridge, as coconut oil has a relatively low melting point.
7.Crystallized Raw Honey scrub
Raw honey crystallizes pretty quickly, turning into a fantastic, universal, mild and most importantly, super nourishing scrub you don’t even have to bother making. Just scoop some of it up, massage into your chapped lips, dull wind-damaged skin or coarse knees and elbows and voila! Does it get any simpler than that? Or more natural, for that matter!
8.Ground oats and tomato scrub
Take a plate of ground oats and powdered sugar. Slice large red and ripe tomatoes. Dip two large thick slices of tomatoes into the ground oats and sugar mixture. Now rub your skin gently with this using circular motions. Once your entire face and neck are scrubbed, take some more tomato slices and let it sit on your face for a while. Tomatoes have natural bleaching agents and the oats soothe your skin.
9.CLASSIC SUGAR SCRUB
Ingredients:Sugar,Vegetable Oil of Choice
As basic as homemade scrubs get but nevertheless very effective, a standard sugar scrub is the most budget-friendly spa-like treatment you can treat yourself with. Use fine brown or white sugar as well as olive, coconut or pretty much any vegetable oil you have at hand, mixing them in a 2:1 ratio so that for every spoonful of oil you add 2 spoons of sugar. Simple, isn’t it? And works like a charm, too!
10.Lemon scrub for your hands, feet
Take one lime and slice into half. Hold both the halves in your hands and dip into powdered sugar. Now, scrub your hands and feet for five minutes with this. Never use this on your face as this may harm sensitive facial skin.
