5 Easy Tips to Protect Your Hair from Colours This Holi

Easy Tips to Protect Your Hair from Colours This Holi
India has a reason to celebrate all year around! With Holi right around the corner, we can see folks already prepping up for the festival. We love playing Holi, but the synthetic colours available in the market today are filled with toxins such as copper sulphate, diesel, lead oxide, engine oil etc. They take a toll on our hair as well as our skin and do a lot more damage than we think. The after-effects of such harmful colours lead to rough and frizzy hair. So, this time, let’s take extra efforts to ensure that our tresses don’t go through the loss.

1.Before stepping out to enjoy the festival, make sure you oil your hair well. Oil helps create a protective layer on your hair. Hence lessening the damage. Oil will also make it easier for the colours to be washed away. Oiling will also deep condition your hair.

2.If you have sensitive scalp or dandruff, add a few drops of lemon juice into your oil before the massage.

3.You can even cover your hair with a scarf or bandana for extra protection.

4. Wash your hair with herbal shampoo and a mild conditioner under lukewarm water. Repeat the process two times. You can also add 2-3 drops of lemon juice into a mug of water and use it for your last rinse. Lemon helps to restore the chemical balance of the scalp.

5. Alternatively, beer is also used to condition and soften hair.
The process should be repeated every day, along with oiling your hair overnight, until the time all the colours come off.
