Benefits of activated charcoal?

Activated charcoal is a fine, odorless, black powder often used in emergency rooms to treat overdoses. Its toxin-absorbing properties have a wide range of medicinal and cosmetic uses, though none are scientifically proven.

1.Teeth whitening and oral health
Dozens of teeth-whitening products contain activated charcoal.

Many oral health products that contain an activated charcoal claim to have various benefits, such as being:
  • antiviral
  • antibacterial
  • antifungal
  • detoxifying
Activated charcoal’s toxin-absorbing properties may be important here, but there is no significant research to support its use for teeth whitening or oral health.

In a 2017 review, researchers concluded there was not enough laboratory or clinical data to determine the safety or effectiveness of activated charcoal for teeth whitening or oral health.

2. Skincare
Researchers have reported that activated charcoal can help draw microparticles, such as dirt, dust, chemicals, toxins, and bacteria, to the surface of the skin, to make removing them easier.

3. Deodorant
Various activated charcoal deodorants are widely available. Charcoal may absorb smells and harmful gases, making it ideal as an underarm, shoe, and refrigerator deodorant.
Activated charcoal is also reported to be able to absorb excess moisture and control humidity levels at a micro-level.
4. Skin infection
Around the world, many different traditional medicine practitioners use activated charcoal powder made from coconut shells to treat soft tissue conditions, such as skin infections.

Activated charcoal may have an antibacterial effect by absorbing harmful microbes from wounds. Several are available commercially.

5.Charcoal lemonade: The new kale smoothie?
Did someone say, charcoal lemonade? Indeed, a lot of people are saying it. High-end juice companies are adding activated charcoal to their products because the charcoal can absorb toxins from the body and leave you feeling renewed. You’re probably wondering if this seemingly odd idea can actually help purify and energize. It can. Once you’re over the look of a bottle of black juice, you’re well on your way.

6.Relieve your stomach troubles
Stomach discomfort can throw off your day. Whether it’s gas pain, indigestion, or a bloated belly, the symptoms are hard to ignore. As it turns out, there’s a little black tablet that may provide some relief – while it’s rising in popularity these days, it’s actually been around for longer than you may have thought.

Activated charcoal – which can be found in powder, liquid, or pill form – is a natural substance used to absorb toxins from the body. In pill form, it’s a safe and easy to use home remedy for a wide variety of ailments or health issues.

7.Rid your hair of toxins
Activated charcoal, when used on your hair, can pull out oil, dirt, and toxins – just like it does for your skin. You can find regular and dry shampoos that contain activated charcoal. If you have very light hair, you won’t want to use the dry shampoo, as it may stain. In any case, try a test patch before using it on all of your hair at once. If you want to try activated charcoal on your hair, but aren’t sure you want to buy a bottle of a pre-made product just yet, you can make your own as you go. Just empty a capsule or add a teaspoon of activated charcoal to your regular shampoo and use as you normally would.
