How to Hide Acne Scars

1. Wash your face.
Splash lukewarm water over your face to dampen your skin.
Apply the face wash to your skin with your fingers using a gentle, circular motion.
Rinse the face wash off by splashing more lukewarm water onto your face until all the product has been removed.
Pat your face dry with a clean towel. Don’t rub, as this can irritate the skin.

2. Apply toner to dry, clean skin
Apply the toner to a clean cotton ball or swab.
Swipe the cotton ball over your clean skin, making sure to cover all areas that have been washed.
Let the toner air dry on your skin.

3.Moisturize before applying makeup
Apply the moisturizer to your face using a massaging, circular motion with your fingers.
Let it dry completely before applying any makeup products.

4.Apply concealer
If you have a liquid concealer, squirt a small amount of product onto the back of your free hand Use the back of your hand as a sort of palette for your makeup.
Using the concealer brush, stipple the concealer only over those areas of your skin that need heavy coverage. Make sure to use a dabbing/patting motion rather than a dragging motion; this provides better coverage, and dragging can irritate the skin, causing more redness that needs to be covered.
Blend the edges of the concealer using a buffing brush
Don’t apply concealer to clear skin — you want to let your natural skin shine through whenever possible.
If you are using a creamy concealer stick, simply rub the brush over the stick to transfer the product. Use the brush, though, as it allows for more precise application.

5.Apply foundation.
Again, squirt some of the foundation onto the back of your free hand.
Dab the sponge into the makeup and apply it to your face.
Don’t drag it or rub it across your skin; instead, stipple as you would with a brush by dabbing. If you’re using a round sponge, you can roll it over your skin.
Apply as much foundation as needed to cover your acne, letting layers dry in between application.

6.Apply additional concealer as needed.
After you’ve applied your foundation, there might be a couple spots where you still need a little heavier coverage. Switch back to your concealer for these areas, using the same technique described above.

7.Apply finishing powder
Note that this is different from setting powder, which keeps your foundation in place over a long period of time.
If you want to use setting powder, apply it before the finishing powder.
